Ricardo Duran Barney. Mexican-Spanish composer, performer, and sound artist. His works include pieces for solo instrument, ensemble, orchestra, electroacoustic compositions, mixed music with fixed support, and live electronics, which have been featured in major international festivals.

A significant work of his artistic production develops in mixed electroacoustic. His interest is in the aspects of the sound reinterpretation of the body movements of the performers, whether they are musicians or from other artistic disciplines. He experiments with various motion sensors, thus exploring different and new expressive possibilities in his music.

He has received various awards and grants, including: The "Scholarship for Creation and Artistic Development" in Guanajuato, 2011 and 2013., The "Young Creators Grant from FONCA" in 2014, selection with the piece "N4CH2" in a competitive call from the "MusicArte Festival de música contemporánea" in Panama in 2015, 3rd place for his work "KVAR" in the International Composition Competition "Amici Della Musica di Cagliari" in Italy in 2015, prenomination and selection of his piece "ALRISHA" to be published by MatchingArts in the 2nd Keuris Composers Contest in the Netherlands in 2016, and admission to the Program: National System of Creators of Arts 2020-2022 from FONCA (Support System for Creation and Cultural Projects).
